Coumadin Clinic

The Heart Center’s Coumadin Clinic (anticoagulation clinic) is an organized approach to managing the proper level of blood anti-clotting medications (e.g., Coumadin). Maintaining the proper therapeutic range of blood clotting time is extremely important for the cardiovascular well-being of patients receiving this therapy. Our Coumadin Clinic maintains computerized records specific to the management of patients receiving Coumadin, which greatly enhances the safety and proper dosing of medication. A simple “finger-stick” is all that’s needed to obtain the small amount of blood needed for analysis during each visit to the clinic.
