Lee MarcusLEE S. MARCUS, M.D. F.A.C.C.

This leading expert in congestive heart failure (CHF) is the architect of the organized approach to the management of congestive heart failure we offer at the Heart Center. He is widely published and has completed extensive research in this specialty.

Dr. Marcus has designed the Heart Center's Congestive Heart Failure Center with a multi-disciplinary approach at its core, and that comprehensive structure benefits many of our patients. He is also currently Director of the CHF Disease Management Program at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

He earned high honors as an undergraduate at Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania, then came to New York to earn his M.D. from New York Medical College in Valhalla where he also completed his residency. After serving as Chief Resident of the Department of Medicine at the New York Medical College, (and earning the distinction Most Outstanding Resident Teaching Award), he set off to become a Fellow in Congestive Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City.

Dr. Marcus completed two subsequent fellowships, at the Yale University-New Haven Hospital, in Connecticut—the first in cardiovascular medicine; the second in nuclear cardiology.

He is certified by the National Board of Medicine Examiners, the American Board of Internal Medicine, with a subspecialty in cardiovascular disease, and the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology. His numerous professional memberships include the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation, and the Heart Failure Society of America.
