Judging from the love of his family that he openly shares with others, Dr. Douglas Kroll, Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Northern Dutchess Hospital, truly knows what it means to “have heart.” His expertise, experience, and academic excellence make him a central player on our winning team, bringing to the Valley the kind of medical attention patients once had to journey hours to find. Before coming to us, Dr. Kroll was a Faculty Member and Instructor in the Departments of Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine at New York City's Mount Sinai Hospital.

He is widely published in his field. His research studies are numerous and highly regarded; his academic record is notable. His undergraduate studies began at Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH, where he majored in biology modified with psychology. He graduated Cum Laude and earned a Xerox Research Grant.  Dr. Kroll achieved his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center/Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital and took a fellowship in cardiovascular disease from The Rhode Island Hospital/Brown University.

Dr. Kroll’s lengthy list of board certifications and specialized training include Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners; Diplomate in Internal Medicine; Pediatric Advanced Life Support/American Heart Association; Advanced Trauma Life Support/American College of Surgeons; Advanced Cardiac Life Support/American Heart Association; Diplomate in Cardiovascular Disease.
