GLENN J. GERBER, D.O., F.A.C.C.Dr. Gerber co-directs our Lipids Disorder Center and is recognized as an expert in metabolic syndromes including diabetes. His distinguished career began early-with distinctions earned at Queens College (CUNY) where he earned a B.A. with honors in chemistry. An M. A. in chemistry followed at Columbia University. He traveled to Des Moines, Iowa's University of Health Sciences for a D.O., with honors, in pediatrics. Back in New York, Dr. Gerber finished residency at US Public Health Service Hospital in Staten Island and a fellowship in cardiology at St. Vincent Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Among Dr. Gerber's many honors are membership in the Phi Lambda Upsilon, National Chemistry Honor Society and a scholarship with the US Public Health Service for his research in metalloproteins with Dr. Charles Dawson. On the local level, he was voted "MD of the Year" by Vassar Brothers Hospital in 1999.
He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, with a subspecialty in cardiovascular diseases.
